Oil Pipes for the Oil Industry


 

To choose pipes, first it must be studied its formation pressure, fracture pressure, overload, dimensions, energy of the field, and depth of the oil field.

A specific amount of production elements is required for the extraction of oil from underground due to the extreme conditions which they endure. During the entire oil production chain there are pipes, and each one have different characteristics according the specific role they have along this chain.   

Conditions such as the field’s conditions, the environment and characteristics of the type of hydrocarbon have a call in the quality necessary for the oil pipe.

There are four types of pipes according to their use:
  • DRILL PIPE: Made with a material with great stiffness and torsion. These pipes are used to drill fields. It is highly resistant and endures the exhausting drill day.
  • CASING: Specifically made to isolate the drilling and internal pressure of geological formations around the machinery. This type of pipes is one of the main elements in an oilfield.
  • TUBING: After the drilling, tubing participates in the transportation of the hydrocarbon from underground to surface.
  • LINEPIPE: To constitute transportation lines, the linepipe is solded along side to transport oil and gas in offshore oilfields. 
On the other hand, other pipes such as stitched spiral tubes, stitched straight tubes, elbow joint pipes, resistance reduction pipes with inner lining, and anticorrosion steel pipe.
A specific pipe for every step of the oil production
The repertoire of oil pipes include perforation drills, inner lining of oil pipes, and non-destructive tests of perforations and oil pipelines.
The characteristics of the oil pipelines have been perfected with time since the extraction conditions have intensified: deepness of the extraction, extreme temperatures, and the environmental conditions. The performance and durability of the pipes depends on the design and production. For every specific task, there is an ideal pipeline.

THE DESALINATION AND DEHYDRATION OF HYDROCARBON, PERFORMED UNDER DIFFERENT PROCESSES, ALLOWS THE EXTRACTION OF SALTS, WASTE AND WATERPROOF CONTENTS.
